same issue, dual monitors, different graphics (nvidia and intel integrated)

I might have a new reason for this. I'm not running dual monitors. Last night my laptop dropped 2 patios from the hard drive and lost gigs of data. Since then, I get this error each time I boot up.

i was transferring files from d: drive to my c: drive speed was around 80mb(transfer rate) then fropped to 16 then froze..

I too have dual monitors and I got this error. I'm wondering if it effects dual monitor graphics cards?

I'm getting the same error, I have 1 monitor. I can sign on, after the system comes up about 45 sec to 1 minute later the keyboard and mouse will freeze up then 3 mins later the computer will restart.

I have had this system almost 5 years. Win 7, 8, 8.1, and now Win 10. Never had any problems. Now today, 11/11/15 Win automatic update, manual restart, 2 hours later, this violation. Thanks!

I just tried to install the latest nVidia driver and received the same error. I had applied the latest available Windows Update updates yesterday and have never had this issue. Also running dual monitor setup.

how do I correct the problem if the computer won't start up again?

HP Pavilion 360 Laptop Windows 10 Home Version 1511 (recent upgrade) with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz. Recently updated drivers for graphics card specifically. First time I got error.

Same problem. Dual moniters, nvidia gtx660ti. Right after a Windows update.

I'm having the same problem, and I can no longer use my laptop, what should I do?

When I lifted the lid on the laptop this morning, mouse froze and got the DPC Watchdog Violation AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your fix worked for awhile and then failed. Should the lock option be invoked along with fast start, sleep and hibernate????????????

I didn't see the error until i disconnected my second monitor. I checked and did not see anything out of the ordinary. I use a VC adapter along with a dedicated VC, all drivers are up to date.

The suggested "temporary solution" did not work. Next freeze came even faster than before. Really frustrating. Wish I had stayed on Windows 7 which never did this.

Same here nothing but problems ever since I went up to 10. Windows help geeks are no help either tell me I have to purchase a copy of 7 and install it myself if I want but it will no longer be supported.
